Job Description

Opportunity to influence future strategy at an exciting time for leading farming charity!

RABI is looking for a new trustee to join its board and help set the strategic direction of our organisation, while ensuring management is held to account, to deliver relevant and effective support for the farming community in England and Wales.
Ideally with a background in farming or a related agricultural industry, our trustee will contribute time, expertise and local or specialist knowledge as a member of the governing body of this 160 year old charity.
A call to RABI’s Helpline puts farmers, farmworkers and their families in touch with an experienced team who can offer vital sources of support, via a growing range of services, when times get too tough to bear alone.
Being a trustee of RABI is a voluntary role which involves attendance at regular meetings (in non-pandemic times, usually held in Oxford) as well communicating by telephone/electronic means. There will also be opportunities to join sub-committees and attend events. Reasonable expenses can be reimbursed as appropriate.
Previous experience as a trustee would be welcome and specific knowledge of agricultural and alternative land use, marketing, communications, strategic planning, governance and/or finance in a charity or business environment, would be very useful.
For further information or to express interest in the role, please see our website  or email our Head of Governance. We will then send an information pack to you, which includes an application form. It is anticipated that interviews for new trustees will take place in March/April.
