Job Description

We are looking for a Specialist Project Support Officer to join our growing charity.

CHIVA’s mission is to ensure that children, young people and families living with HIV become healthier, happier and more in control of their own futures. 

CHIVA works to ensure young people living with HIV have the treatment and care, knowledge, understanding, skills and wider support needed to live well and achieve their greatest potential.

You should be a qualified healthcare or social care professional with a passion for the work of our organisation and a clear understanding of the issues facing young people and children growing up with HIV. 

You will provide emotional and social support and HIV education to children and young people who are living with HIV in the Midlands region Your main duties will include holding one to one meetings and providing emotional and social support in group settings during peer events. Your work will be focussed on enabling a smooth transition to adult services. You will work with multi disciplinary teams across the region, attending meetings and providing support to ensure that children and young people are provided with the right level of support as and when required. As part of this role you will act as an advocate for young people and their families in wider society and other organisations such as local authorities and schools. You will be expected to be committed to the safeguarding of children and the ethos of the organisation.
