Job Description

Help us to use rural estates, farms and locations in Oxfordshire to enable people with learning disabilities and autism to live a life with purpose, progress and fun. The Director of FarmAbility is responsible for ensuring the success, sustainability and growth of FarmAbility for the benefit of co-farmers (people with learning disabilities, many also with autism) through overseeing an effective programme and fundraising strategy, and engaging staff and volunteers in working well towards programme outcomes.

FarmAbility exists to give our co-farmers a more purposeful, healthy and fulfilling life, whilst having fun and making friends. Our programmes are thoughtfully designed to allow co-farmers to make their own choices and to try new things in a happy, caring and supported environment. We benefit from the rich landscapes that our partner farms, estates and owners of green spaces generously provide us with and, in turn, co-farmers make a valued contribution to the seasonal cycle of farming and horticulture.

The Director provides strategic leadership in order that FarmAbility achieves strong outcomes for co-farmers’ well-being and skills development, while ensuring the programme is flexible, responsive and financially viable.  The Director seeks to innovate and develop the programme and develops effective partnerships with relevant bodies to create more opportunities for new co-farmers to benefit from farm-based programmes.
