You will be joining us as a Trustee to play a crucial role in our evolution.  As we are a charity, our Trustees are responsible for ensuring the success of the organisation in fulfilling its purpose for the long term and overseeing delivery in our key impact areas.   You will be a guardian of our organisational values, have the ability to steward the charity's resources effectively and to ensure the charity champions consumers effectively. 

We are seeking a Trustee with  Policy development and advocacy expertise, with a proven track record in translating problems into policy solutions, gained from experience in either government, regulators,  charities or commercial industries.  Using your experience, you will act as a critical friend to the executive team to 

  • consider our policy and influencing strategies,  testing  culture  and values fit, 
  • scale of ambition, 
  • level of  innovation and our methodologies.

You will support the executive team in raising the organisation' profile, building a strong network externally with our government and business audiences in particular.

As a Policy Trustee you will bring:

  • An understanding of  global and UK consumer policy, with a  proven record in  translating the questions posed into concrete policy solutions
  • A proven track record of policy development, and raising the profile and reputation of an organisation through achieving  meaningful  impact. This can be gained from a range of industries  from government, regulatory or charitable and/or commercial
  • A strong network,  able to leverage networks to support and position Which? as a consumer champion.
