Job Description

The Pioneer Group own and manage 2,467 social and market rent homes in north and east Birmingham, and our head office is in Castle Vale.  We are proud of our community-led approach, working with and for local people. 

One of our fundamental principles is our belief that we should be more than just a provider of good quality homes.  This is why we invest in a range of charitable activities through our charitable subsidiary Compass Support, including youth and family support; employment support; health and wellbeing activities; support for the elderly; a children’s day nursery; and a sports and leisure facility, Castle Vale Stadium.

We are looking to recruit a number of new members for the boards of either:

·         The Pioneer Group (housing association and group parent)

·         Compass Support (our charitable subsidiary company)

The Pioneer Group:

We would particularly welcome candidates with experience in either:

·         Asset management/Development/Health and safety

·         Strategic financial management/Audit/Risk

·         Community led organisations

Compass Support

We would particularly welcome candidates with experience in either:

·         Community engagement

·         Safeguarding

·         Business growth

All Board members must be able to demonstrate our values and support our mission.

The Boards seek to be diverse and representative of the communities they serve.  The Group has a learning and development programme in place to support all Board Members to develop their skills and support good governance practice across the Group.
