Core Arts are looking for a Single Point of Entry Officer  to offer holistic information, signposting & guidance to individuals with Severe Mental Health Issues located in City & Hackney. 

Core Arts are looking for experienced professionals to deliver a new piece of work as part of the borough’s response to the crisis: operating a single point of entry (SPOE) signposting support service via phone and email for individuals with severe mental health needs (SMI). The SPOE will offer holistic information, signposting & guidance to individuals with SMI located in City & Hackney. 

Core Arts Mental Health Charity based in Hackney offers a range of creative arts activities to improve health and wellbeing to adults who experience mental health issues. Our centre in Hackney is currently closed due to COVID-19, and we are offering an alternative service (an extensive online offer with offline solutions for those with connectivity issues and remote phone support) in order to continue supporting our members.

The ideal candidate will have several years experience working in a mental health setting (or other applicable social care environment) and knowledge of the challenges this faced by SMI individuals in particular. They will have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage appropriately with a range of stakeholders; from Core Arts members to external professionals. Essential to this role is also a proficiency in it skills and using databases to record member experience.

We are looking for a professional who can work in a challenging and complex environment, who can pick up this role flexibly and dynamically in order to support our team to meet the growing demand of our service. With the ability to support the implementation and delivery of a high quality Single Point of Access for SMI and maintain the high standard of our service.

Post Title: Single Point of Entry Officer – Core Arts

Hours: Flexible as agreed ( 21 hours to 35 hours p/w)


9.00am – 7.00pm (The post holder will be expected to work flexibly in line with service needs)

Based: Home based initially (as per COVID-19 restrictions) then moving to Core Arts Centre.

Salary:  £26,000 to £30,000 pro rata  according to experience

Responsible to: Single Point of Entry Manager

Contract type: PAYE Temporary Fixed Term Contract  6 months (renewable
