Solent Mind is the leading ­mental health charity across Hampshire providing a range of high quality services to improve people’s mental wellbeing and to promote choice and rights to everyone who needs our support. Our services operate in various locations throughout the Hampshire area.

Solent Mind is proud to be a partner in The Lighthouse - an innovative community based facility which supports people experiencing, or at risk of, a mental health crisis. Delivered in partnership with Southern Health, The Lighthouse offers open access support to visitors 365 evenings per year.  We are currently recruiting for:

PEER SPECIALIST (CRISIS SUPPORT)

Contract: Fixed Term Until 01 Feb 2021 (possible extension, subject to funding)

Hours: 16 Hours Per Week (evening and weekend working essential)

Salary Range: £18,549 To £19,975 Pro Rata Per Annum (NB: Pay Award Pending)

Location: Southampton

APPLICATIONS FOR FEWER HOURS AND/OR JOB SHARE OPPORTUNITIES WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THE RIGHT CANDIDATE

As a key member of team, you will support visitors to The Lighthouse by providing opportunities for them to talk through their issues, develop and use coping techniques and link up with longer term support. Hours will be worked as 4pm-12pm midnight shifts on a rota basis, which will include some weekends and bank holidays. Unsocial hours enhancements will apply.

You will need to have personal, lived experience of a mental health issue, as well as the confidence and aptitude to calmly and effectively support people who are distressed and/or in crisis.
