Job Description

About The Reform Club

The Reform Club is a social clubhouse for men and women drawn from many backgrounds and a wide field of professional life. The Club offers members the benefits of an extensive library, fine dining and an excellent wine cellar. Social events, such as music and theatre evenings, garden parties, a Christmas party, and discussion evenings are arranged for members and guests.

A number of societies exist within the Club to pursue special interests, among them economics and current affairs, literature and history, the media, military intelligence and science and technology. Typically, distinguished speakers are invited to address these societies, with dinner served to members and their guests either before or after and either formally or informally. The Club hosts over 100 of such events every year.

About the role

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Membership Development Manager is a newly created position in response to the Club’s priority objective to increase its membership by 400 by the end of 2022. You will be responsible for devising the necessary activities to accelerate the pace of membership elections, within the current parameters of the Club’s Rules, to achieve a net increase of 100 members per annum.

You will be responsible for activities ranging from event management to PR and Communications. Your role will be focused on relationship building, demonstrate diplomacy and often be ‘thinking outside the box’. Ultimately, you will recommend new and effective strategies to build awareness, optimise the potential of the current membership base and effectively convert enquiries and expressions of interest to membership nominations.

Your background and experience

You will come with a proven track record of relationship building and management in a professional capacity, with evidence that you can achieve and exceed financial targets.

A proven track record of success in working with others, ideally managing a team, to deliver high quality results to deadlines will ensure your success. You will be an exceptional communicator, verbal and written, who is highly polished and has a naturally polite manner. You will be extremely personable and able to quickly build strong, positive relationships with both customers and colleagues. Ultimately, you will have a pro-active and positive “can do” attitude and willingness to support others where needed. This can be a fast-paced environment, thus the ability to multi-task with the willingness to work additional hours, if required, will be needed.

Closing date for formal applications: 9am, Monday 9th March 2020
