Job Description

The Baptist Union of Great Britain is seeking a safeguarding caseworker to work in their small safeguarding team in modern offices in Didcot, Oxfordshire.  You will need to have a resilient and positive approach to what is often difficult and sensitive work and  be organised and effective as you work to support the 13 regional associations, 5 colleges and nearly 2,000 churches across England and Wales.

In particular the Safeguarding Caseworker will support Baptist Regional Teams with work on cases involving accredited ministers, liaising with our Ministries Team on a regular basis.

The role will be busy and varied and as well as case work the post holder will assist with the development of policy, procedures and good practice guidelines.  There will be the chance to develop and maintain external professional relationships with statutory agencies, eg Local Authority Designated Officers (LADO), police and safeguarding boards.

We take safeguarding training very seriously and you would be involved with design, dissemination and review of training and training materials for regional staff, ministers, staff and those in our Baptist churches.

You will need relevant experience or a safeguarding qualification to be considered for this role.
