We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join our dedicated senior leadership team as our Head of Operations and Quality.  This is a new post that will provide plenty of challenge and reward.

The Forum has been in existence since 1992 and has a proud and long history of bringing lived experience expertise to the heart of local services and social change in Dorset.  As the Head of Operations and Quality you will be based at the charity’s main office in Dorchester and play a key part in contributing to the long-term strategy of the organisation.

At this pivotal time in the organisation’s growth, this vital role will further develop the charity’s capacity, credibility and impact as an organisation, ensuring it fulfills its purpose and makes the best possible difference.  As the successful post holder, you will head up our infrastructure functions including HR, Technology, Compliance, Communications and Marketing, ensuring the continued delivery of quality activities with demonstrable impact.

The post has three areas of focus: Leadership and People, Infrastructure Support and Systems and Processes.  Key responsibilities are:

  • Providing leadership, development and coordination of internal systems, processes, support infrastructure, capability and functions.
  • Developing and supporting infrastructure functions: IT, digital, HR, resources, marketing, communications and workforce development, in line with strategy.
  • Creating and supporting processes for beneficiary voices to be central to all activities and operations.
  • Leading and supporting the development of systems, tools and processes for demonstrating and reporting impact, as well as ensuring quality and compliance.

The successful candidate will have values that align with the charity, a passion for making a difference to people who experience mental health issues and a good understanding of why this is important, as well as:

  • Senior operational management experience in public, private or voluntary sector.
  • Experience of working at senior leadership level within an organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing complexity, transformation and change.
  • Strong experience of developing systems and processes for reporting, assurance and accountability for quality, resources, compliance, governance, performance and impact.

We look forward to hearing from you.
