Consultant
keystone accountability

Job Description

Who are we?

Keystone is a nonprofit consultancy that addresses the measurement needs of nonprofits, businesses, and government agencies. We help organisations realise their greatest potential by listening and responding to those most affected by their activities. Our trademark method, Constituent Voice™, helps organisations to be inclusive and responsive in their engagement with constituents, systematic in their learning, and transparent in their public reporting.

Mostly, we work with foundations, agencies, and international non-governmental organisations (INGOs) to co-create continual improvement capabilities based on the Constituent Voice method. We also guide clients as they exercise these capabilities through measurement, accountability, and learning operations to improve their social impact. Occasionally, we carry out independent evaluation studies with a special focus on listening to organisation constituents.

Our client list includes the C&A Foundation, USAID, Global Environment Fund, Ashoka: Innovators for the Public, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The World Bank Group, Oxfam International, Charity Navigator, Swiss Development Corporation, Ikea Foundation, Save the Children, Christian Aid, the Grassroots Business Fund, the Government of South Africa, and many others.

Job Specification

We are looking for a full-time Consultant to join our dynamic client-serving consulting team. As a consultant you would:

  • Develop and support organisations in using innovative tools for continual improvement grounded in the voices of those who are meant to benefit from their work;
  • Manage and deliver Keystone-related services and products to clients; and
  • Contribute to a growing body of knowledge around aid effectiveness, particularly in inclusion of constituent voice within complex civil society systems.

Our model collects feedback through micro-surveys and other means, turns that feedback into data, analyses that data in ways that excavate insights that everyone can understand, uses the data analyses for shared investigations by all constituents of a given social change initiative (client staff, those they seek to the, the client’s funders, and other relevant actors), co-creates corrective actions, at which time the cycle begins again with another micro-survey. Your work would support Keystone clients as they implement this continual improvement model.

Much of what Keystone does supports clients to “walk the talk” of their commitments to those they mean to help. As a result, we understand this role as one of change management.
