Regional Support & Development Officer - East of England (part-time)
lawworks

Job Description

LawWorks (the Solicitors Pro Bono Group) is a charity which enables access to justice by encouraging and supporting legal pro bono in England and Wales. We work primarily with solicitors, law schools and law students, and other legal and non-legal volunteers and organisations.

Regional Support and Development Officer – East of England

Salary: £14,390 (£23,983 full time)

Hours: 21 hours (+ flexible working)

We support a growing network of over 260 local independent pro bono advice clinics across England and Wales. We work with lawyers, advice agencies, charities and others to establish or develop new clinics, and provide ongoing information and support, for clinic volunteers and coordinators.

This role will focus on building on the support we have been providing in the East of England, identifying opportunities to develop new pro bono clinics to meet unmet legal needs, and to engage with stakeholders to share learning on the pro bono work being delivered.

The ideal candidate will be a confident networker who is able to identify opportunities and see them through to completion. All of LawWorks’ work is delivered through partnerships so it is essential that the candidate is personable, collaborative and an effective communicator.

Ideally the position will be home-based in the East of England (or potentially located with a host agency). Flexible working arrangements are available.

The role offers variety, autonomy, the opportunity to develop or support new initiatives from idea to launch, and a chance to support your local community.

LawWorks is a relatively small organisation with 18 staff, including staff based in Wales and in the English regions. We are a busy and (for our size) complex charity, with a friendly team, a positive ethos, and a commitment to ensuring that LawWorks is a strong and efficient organisation and a great place to work.

In addition to encouraging and supporting pro bono delivery, we also work to address barriers to justice and to provide a 'policy voice' for pro bono.

More information about the role and how to apply is available on the LawWorks website.

The deadline for applications is 10.00am on Tuesday 12th November.

LawWorks is an equal opportunities employer. We encourage applications irrespective of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
