LawWorks (the Solicitors Pro Bono Group) is a charity which enables access to justice by encouraging and supporting legal pro bono in England and Wales. We work primarily with solicitors, law schools and law students, and other legal and non-legal volunteers and organisations.

Executive Officer Pro Bono Connect – part-time

21 hours - £16,526 (equivalent to £27,543 f/t) plus 5% pension.

LawWorks and Pro Bono Connect are delighted to be working together to recruit the first member of staff for the Pro Bono Connect scheme working under the auspices of LawWorks. 

Pro Bono Connect is a network of barristers and solicitors willing to work together on pro bono cases for individuals, charities and community groups who cannot afford to pay for legal advice/representation and for whom public or alternative means of funding are not reasonably available. There are currently 65 participating firms and chambers who are part of the scheme.

This position provides an exciting opportunity to join a respected charity working to enable access to justice.

Priorities for this role will be:

• To identify opportunities for growth, supporting the scheme to expand into new geographic and legal areas, and growing its membership;

• To support and grow awareness of the scheme and opportunities to volunteer through it; and

• To oversee the administration of maintaining the scheme.

The ideal candidate will be a confident networker who is able to identify opportunities and see them through to completion. It is essential that the candidate is personable, collaborative and an effective communicator. A background in the legal or advice sector is desirable (but not essential).

For this part-time role there will be flexibility on the pattern of hours and days worked . Ideally the role will be based in London, but we will consider applications for homeworking and/or a location outside London.
