children's cancer and leukaemia group

Job Description

Are you proactive, creative and after a new challenge? We’re looking for a new member of our communications team to support us to raise awareness of our work with key audiences, increase engagement with our brand and support income generation.

You’ll focus on building our profile through local and national media, and coordinate PR and media campaigns for our activities. You’ll also help produce our award-winning quarterly magazine for families of children and young people affected by cancer.

With excellent written and verbal communication skills you’ll be able to work collaboratively and deliver quality results. You’ll need to source and write compelling content for a wide range of audiences, including press releases, liaise with the media and work with our members and supporters.

About us

Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG) is a leading national charity and expert voice for all childhood cancers.

Each week in the UK and Ireland, more than 30 children are diagnosed with cancer. Our network of dedicated professional members work together in treatment, care and research to help shape a future where all children with cancer survive and live happy, healthy and independent lives.

We fund and support innovative world-class research and collaborate, both nationally and internationally, to drive forward improvements in childhood cancer. Our award-winning information resources help lessen the anxiety, stress and loneliness commonly felt by families, giving support throughout the cancer journey.

The Press and PR Communications Executive is a member of the CCLG Information, Communications and Marketing team which oversees our external and internal (membership) communications and produces our award-winning, quality assured patient information. This is a new role, consolidating tasks which are currently performed by other members of the team and by a third-party PR agency. The role will have a strong focus on raising awareness of CCLG and its work with key audiences, increasing engagement with our brand and supporting income generation.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
