Senior Fundraising Executive
speakers for schools

Job Description

About “Speakers for Schools”

Few charities generate more excitement and inspiration than Speakers for Schools. Whether or not we’ve organised Naomi Campbell to share the highs and lows of her journey with 150 young people from Elmgreen School, or 15 young people to participate in work experience at the Bank of England, every day brings laughter, excitement and that warm feeling that you did something good.

Founded by ITV Political Editor Robert Peston (Trustee), and chaired by Andrew Law (Caxton Associates), Speakers for Schools was created to help level the playing field for UK state schools and their students by giving them the same access to the UK’s leading figures from politics, business, and sport as enjoyed by private schools.

Bill Gates, Baroness (Martha) Lane Fox, Professor Brian Cox, David Dein, David Cameron, Natalie Bennett, Philip Hammond, Naomi Campbell and over a thousand other influential and inspirational people have been kind enough to volunteer their time to speak with Speakers for Schools. Three-quarters of a million Young People have attended a Speakers for Schools talk.

More recently, we launched our S4SNextGen service. S4SNextGen works with our outstanding network of speakers and partner employers, to offer young people, work experience opportunities which would usually be out of reach to them. We have now offered more than two thousand work experience placements at employers such as the Bank of England, M&C Saatchi, Disney, Vogue, BA, Cisco and others.

Speakers for Schools is entering a new and exciting phase in its journey. Having recently appointed its new CEO Jason Elsom, and thanks to the continued and extended generosity of the Law Family Charitable Foundation, Speakers for Schools will accelerate its growth to support more young people by initially growing its team from eight to thirteen before the end of 2019, with additional growth planned throughout 2020.
