Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, committed and passionate Fundraising & Communications Manager to develop and grow our income and achieve our mission. 

Purpose of the role:

To maximise Youth Options’ income generation function in order to provide greater organisational strength and financial stability. To secure external funding to support the delivery of Youth Options’ strategic objectives and business plan. To secure relationships with donors, trusts and foundations; develop Youth Options’ existing strategic partnerships and lead on internal and external communications

Youth Options is a dynamic organisation established in 1937. Our vision is that every child and young person should have the opportunity to realise their potential whatever their life circumstances. We seek to empower and support children and young people to improve their life opportunities for a better future. 

Youth Options employs a dedicated and passionate staff team, and group of committed volunteers. We deliver services that are open access for all young people, but much of our delivery is targeted to young people with specific needs. We work with young people in a wide range of situations, including those in care, care leavers, those at risk of exclusion from school or society, those already excluded from mainstream education and young people who are NEET or likely to be NEET on leaving school.

About you:

Able to demonstrate a significant level of insight and experience, you will have demonstrable experience of developing and implementing institutional funding strategies.

You will bring significant experience of leading design processes to develop new programmes. You will have a strong track record of preparing and submitting successful proposals to trusts and foundations. You will have experience of working in the third sector and of developing and sustaining external partnerships and networks.

You will have a strong commitment to working within a safeguarding framework together with an understanding of equal rights and equal opportunities.

You will possess excellent interpersonal skills along with analytical and problem-solving skills. You will be an excellent written and verbal communicator. You will have strong programme management skills and a good understanding of impact measurement.
