We are currently recruiting for:

Veterans Wellbeing Co-Ordinator – Positive Minds

Portsmouth Support & Recovery Service (PSR) – ref: VWCPMjun19

37 hours per week to include some evening and weekend work

Salary: £22,603 - £24,341 per annum

Positive Minds is an open, accessible and inclusive place in Portsmouth where help and support is available to people aged 18 + facing distress in their lives, including specific work with the Veteran community.

Operated by Solent Mind in partnership with Solent NHS, Portsmouth CCG and Veterans Charities, there are a range of activities, training, life coaching and other community support services offered both in 1 to 1 and group based sessions.

As Veterans Wellbeing Co-Ordinator you will lead the day to day running of all Veterans specific support delivered at Positive Minds.

By supervising the Veterans Wellbeing Advisors and Volunteers, you will support staff to ensure people looking to access services have the best possible experience. From initial welcome, throughout the action planning, service signposting, accessing and recovery processes, you will oversee the co-ordination of all activities and supervision of all staff.

You will also hold a small case load delivering 1 to 1 support for people looking to access services, as well as being responsible for liaison with staff as part of the wider Solent Mind Portsmouth Support and Recovery Services, updating them on operations and opportunities to collaborate together as a team.

The Veterans Wellbeing Co-Ordinator has a particular focus on supporting people who previously served in the armed forces, their families and carers. With your own lived experience of service in the forces, you will specialise in understanding Veteran specific support options and services, as well as being trained and available to support Veterans experiencing a mental health crisis.
