Chief Executive Officer
ipswich housing action group ltd

Job Description

  • Salary circa £50,000 plus 7% pension contribution - Permanent – full-time - Ipswich (excellent transport links for commuters)

Do you have the passion, drive and skills to lead a dynamic local charity?

If so, you may be exactly the person that we are looking for to become our new CEO and to help us to build on our success.   You will need to be a dynamic individual who can inspire, motivate, make a real (and sustainable) difference and, above all, fulfil our ambition to take our charity to the next level.

Ipswich Housing Action Group (IHAG) is a fiercely independent charity, with 35 staff and over 3,000 clients a year, that provides services to single homeless people including money and debt services, walk-in day advice and housing services.  We value free thinking, creativity and innovation and are interested in solutions that get to the heart of real problems.  Our focus at all times is to ensure the interests and needs of our clients, and potential clients are met.

Our current CEO is retiring, creating an exciting opportunity to take over from where he leaves off.  Reporting to the Chair of Trustees and to the Board, the CEO will be supported by a strong Senior Management Team and a dedicated workforce.  The role will focus on the management and development of IHAG as a business, as a provider of excellent services to our clients and as a leading influencer in and around Ipswich.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic management and leadership of IHAG, ensuring delivery of our core aims
  • Staff leadership, management and administration of IHAG
  • Safeguarding that IHAG’s values remain deeply embedded within all communications, actions and service delivery at all levels of the organisation
  • Strategic development and performance of IHAG financially
  • Working with the Chair & Trustees to ensure that the Board has the resources (information, skills, knowledge) to fulfil their governance functions
  • Maintaining and developing IHAG as a key influencer

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Senior Manager seeking their first CEO role, or a current CEO looking for further development and new challenges.  You will possess excellent communication skills, sound judgment, the ability to listen and learn, enthusiasm for leading and empowering others, and a passion for getting things right for existing and potential clients.

We value people who inspire, motivate and make a difference; if you prefer to take a back seat and watch the world go by, then IHAG is not for you.

If you are excited by this opportunity, and have a vision for how you can take our charity forward, apply today and start making a difference.

Closing date for completed applications is by noon on Monday 15th July 2019.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
