Job Description

Lingen Davies Cancer Fund exists to enhance cancer services and improve lives in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales. Founded in 1979, with the aim of bringing cancer services to Shropshire for the first time, our work is now focused in three key areas: cancer prevention and early diagnosis, excellent treatment delivered locally, and living well with and beyond cancer.

We are a vibrant and passionate organisation dedicated to making a difference to the local community. Not only do we want to share our news and stories about all the fabulous things our supporters do, but we also want to make sure as many people as possible hear about the fabulous services we are funding and supporting. You will work closely with members of the Fundraising and Communications team to make sure our work and activities are well represented in a variety of print and digital outlets, including social media.

The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will work as part of the wider team to help develop our supporter base, increase engagement with the charity, and increase our fundraising efforts using a variety of marketing, research, storytelling, and communications tools.

You will have excellent written skills to help share the stories behind the people and the charity, with responsibility for managing our social media output, sharing stories across traditional and online media, and the charity’s own digital platforms.

You will work with the wider team, as well as our supporters and volunteers to help increase awareness of, and engagement with, Lingen Davies Cancer Fund’s charitable work, including internal projects and external grant making.

You will assist with the creation of design work using Canva and other platforms to deliver general promotional flyers and materials for events adhering to brand guidelines and assist with the general promotion of LD events and fundraising initiatives.

You will work with both the internal team and external agencies to deliver content while operating within the ethos and values of the charity.

 You will be self-managing, motivated, have excellent interpersonal skills and be computer savvy!

This is a permanent role for 22.5 hours per week (0.6FTE). There will be work out of office hours where TOIL will be occurred.
