Lingen Davies Cancer Fund CIO

Job Description

We're seeking trustees to join our board as we launch an exciting new phase of growth and development. Can you use your skills, networks and enthusiasm to help us make an amazing impact on cancer services in our region?

Lingen Davies Cancer Fund is here to enhance cancer services and improve lives in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, and Mid Wales. We raise funds and deliver services to support our three key aims of:

– Improving cancer symptom awareness and early diagnosis rates

– Supporting excellent cancer services, locally

– Helping people to live well with and beyond cancer

Launched in 1979, Lingen Davies was formed to bring cancer services to our region for the first time. As we head towards our 50th anniversary, we are more impactful than ever, funding high-spec medical equipment, rehab and wellbeing programmes and the highly regarded Cancer Champions project, improving cancer awareness across the region.

We are a dynamic, creative and highly effective charity, with deep roots in the communities that we serve. We are looking for a number of new trustees to join our Board as we embark on our next exciting stage of development.

First and foremost, we want our new trustees to have a genuine interest in the charity and a desire to support our aims, objectives and development.

We are particularly keen to recruit trustees with the following specific skills and experiences:
 Fundraising and/or Business Development: Proven ability to fundraise and cultivate relationships with potential donors, funders, and partners.
 PR & Marketing: Able to lend your expertise to help us grow and develop our presence across the region.
 Legal Expertise: Ideally in current, or recent, practice.
 Finance & Governance: Experience in financial oversight, governance, and strategic planning.
 People who have lived experience of cancer, or supporting someone with cancer
 People living, or with significant contacts in, Telford or Mid Wales

We will be holding two informal events for prospective candidates to meet trustees and staff and find out more about the role on the following dates:

Wednesday 29th January 6.30-8.30pm | Thursday 6th February 5.00-7.00pm

Both of these sessions will take place at the Hamar Centre, Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Mytton Oak Road, Shrewsbury, SY3 8XQ.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
