This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join Winterbourne Medieval Barn Trust as enters a new phase. Follwing a successful £1.8M refurbishment programme this iconic site is about to reopen as a Rural Craft and Heritage Centre. We need an experienced Company Secretary to help us shape our future.We are both a Registered Charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee.
This role would suit someone who has an interest in heritage and preserving historic buildings.
The key responsibilities are:
o To ensure that the organisation complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
o To ensure that the organisation pursues its objects as defined in its governing document
o To ensure the organisation applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objects
o To contribute actively to the Board of Trustees' role in giving firm strategic direction to the organisation, setting overall policy, defining goals and setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets
o To safeguard the good name and values of the organisation
o To ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation
o To protect and manage the property of the charity
o To manage the Board of Trustees and ensure that meetings are held in a timely and efficient manner
Much of the role can be carried out remotely but ability to attend up to 8 meetings a year in Winterbourne Bristol would be an advantage
