Bliss, the UK charity for every baby born premature or sick, has a new strategy. Over the next three years (2016-2019) Bliss’ ambition is to reach every single baby born needing neonatal care in the UK and their family. We want every baby to benefit from our work, no matter how long they live or how long they spend on a neonatal unit.

The Information and Support Team will lead the delivery of services to support parents in caring and decision-making for their babies; and the Healthcare Engagement Team will lead on developing Bliss’ priority services for health professionals.

Volunteer Support Officer

Do you want to make a difference to the 90,000 babies needing neonatal care in the in the UK?

Bliss is looking for a Volunteer Support Officer to join our Information and Support Team.

Our Information and Support Team provides emotional and practical support for parents and families of babies born premature or sick, during what can be a very difficult time in their lives.  Many of our services are delivered by our fantastic volunteers across the country, who deliver emotional support via our helpline, face-to-face in neonatal units, and in family groups.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who will be responsible for coordinating the recruitment and monitoring of volunteers across the country, ensuring that our processes are robust, of high quality, and deliver the support our volunteers need.  This role will support the delivery of our new strategy, which focuses on improving outcomes for babies, however long they live and however long their stay in neonatal care.

You will have a track record of working with volunteers, have good organisational skills and strong interpersonal skills. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing organisation in helping to support premature and sick babies and their families.
