VOLUNTEER CO-ORDINATOR

P/T  22 ½ HOURS PER WEEK

SALARY NJC SCALE 4, 18 – 21 £ 17,714 - £19,742 (PRO- RATA)

‘Self- motivated People Person’ required for exciting position within the Key Communications project at Northumberland County Blind Association (NCBA).

Vision Impaired Service Users of Northumberland County Blind Association and its staff team are currently supported by 108 volunteers in a diverse range of voluntary roles.  The Volunteer Co-ordinator plays a key role within the organisation and will be responsible for recruitment, training and on-going support of volunteers to deliver the Big Lottery Funded Key Communications project objectives.

Based at the NCBA Resource Centre in Morpeth and reporting to the Information & Voluntary Services Manager, the post-holder will be responsible for co-ordination, monitoring and evaluation of all volunteer activities and actively promote recruitment of sight impaired volunteers.

Travel across Northumberland County will also be an occasional requirement of the post. 

Experience of working within the voluntary sector and supporting volunteers is required.

The 3 year post is funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund.
