Job Description

The University of Birmingham Guild of Students are looking for professionals to join our Trustee Board as External Trustees. The Trustee Board is ultimately responsible for overseeing the affairs of the Guild. Our Trustees must ensure that the Guild is well run and delivers the objectives for which it has been set up.

It’s an exciting time for the Guild, as we look to continue our excellence through the delivery of our new strategy for 2018-21 and a strong and active Trustee Board will be essential as we move forwards. We would be particularly interested to hear from individuals with experience of delivery of digital/ online services, which is a key part of the strategy, although this is not a requirement.

The Guild values applications from a wide range of backgrounds that are reflective of the full diversity of Birmingham’s community. We would encourage candidates with current or previous experience in a membership/charitable organisation, however this is also not necessarily a requirement.

The post of External Trustee is appointed for a period of three years, which can be extended for a second term. This role is not remunerated; however reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
