Turn2us is a charity that has been supporting people living in poverty in the UK and Ireland for over 120 years. Our volunteering programme has achieved the national Investing in Volunteers (IIV) Quality Mark and we are currently delivering on our Volunteering Strategy to grow and develop our volunteering programme.

An opportunity has now arisen for a full-time Volunteer Support Manager to join our Engagement Services Team at our Headquarters Office in Hammersmith. Reporting to the Head of Department, you will lead on delivering on our current volunteer strategy (‘15-‘18) and you will be responsible for developing and delivering our next strategy, which will include managing new initiatives for support, developing policy and reviewing the training program for our volunteers. You will also lead on the re-assessment of or IIV Quality Mark in 2019.

This role primarily provides leadership in respect of planning and delivering the organisation’s high quality volunteer program and managing a small volunteer team of three to ensure the program is run with the highest efficiency and standard.

We are looking for an effective team lead who is IT literate with the ability to competently use CRM systems, MS Office suite, especially Word, Excel and mail merge. You will have strong administration skills with good attention to detail and a high level of interpersonal skills, particularly in respect of providing excellent customer care. You will be experienced in managing a team, managing your own workload and are able to react to changing circumstances to ensure that competing deadlines are prioritised and met. An understanding of the charity sector, particularly with respect to the role of volunteers together with experience of using a database to produce monitoring reports is a requirement.
