Job Description

Formed in 1948, Tavistock Relationships is internationally renowned as an organisation delivering and developing advanced practice, training and research in psychotherapeutic and psycho-educational approaches to supporting couples.  We deliver professional training to the next generation of couple therapists and provide psychological therapy services to couples and parents throughout London. We provide a range of counselling and psychotherapy services for couples across the lifespan, experiencing difficulties in their relationships, mental health and their family lives. In addition, we undertake research, service development and policy activities which encourage the development and dissemination of effective and innovative relationship support interventions.

Tavistock Relationships is seeking to appoint new Trustees with substantial strategic leadership and governance experience to join our organisation. We are keen to ensure diversity on our Trustee Board and we would welcome applications from individuals from all sections of the community with relevant experience gained from various sectors (private, public or not-for-profit). 

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals with strong backgrounds in the following areas:

  • Law
  • Health and social care
  • Academia and research
  • Clinical psychology/psychotherapy

The Board of Trustees needs skills and experience in: setting targets, monitoring and evaluating performance against agreed targets; financial management and income generation; collaborative partnerships; social investment and impact; legal matters; public policy and public affairs; marketing and digital strategy; computers and Information Technology; national and local government and statutory bodies. 

The newly-appointed Trustees will commit to attending between four to twelve meetings per year, including the Board and other Sub-Committee meetings. 

All new Trustees will be fully supported through an induction plan and will be offered ongoing support from the CEO, other Trustees and the wider Senior Management Team.  

The closing date for applications is 17:00 on Tuesday 3rd October 2017 with interviews most likely to take place in mid-October.
