norpip

Job Description

NorPIP is a well loved family therapy charity based in Northamptonshire that is immensely passionate about developing networks of care for mums, dads and their babies who are having difficulties forming a secure bond, as a result of perinatal or infant mental health issues. The work we do supports predominantly mums who may have extreme health issues such as perinatal psychosis through to mums suffering from postnatal depression and their babies.

We deliver a range of services which include parent infant psychotherapy, perinatal peer support through our partners, Family Action and Home-Start Cambridgeshire and Antenatal Education programmes through Engage Antenatal.

As a charity, we are undergoing a period of rapid growth and we need support from trustees to steer us through this major growth period, as our services grow across Cambridgeshire and Leicestershire. We will have 37 people delivering our services by the end of 2017, all to vulnerable families who have mental health issues and may also have social issues too.

As a trustee, you will become involved in steering this intensely important work and helping to maximise our impact with our life changing therapies, and empower families to take control of their lives at a time when their lives can potentially spiral irretrievably out of control. Our work saves babies from going into care and helps mums recover from trauma.

We are looking for trustees who have excellent judgement and analytical skills, a passion about what we do and might come from any of the following backgrounds:

  • Parents who have had experience of mental health issues themselves
  • Marketing/branding or communications
  • Finance for small charities or companies
  • Experience securing commissioning from local authorities or health services
  • Experience in local government or childrens services
  • Experience in delivering change programmes or scaling up charities
  • Experience of charity management
  • Experience in business
  • Experience in human resources
  • Experience in delivering or managing mental health or social work initiatives
