Trustees and Chairperson X 2
aching arms

Job Description

Aching Arms is a small but rapidly growing charity that brings comfort to bereaved families who have lost a baby at any stage during pregnancy, at birth or shortly after. We are the only charity in the UK that works with hospitals to provide comfort bears given in memory of another baby who has died. We aim to support the mental health needs of bereaved mothers and fathers at a time of often acute loneliness for bereaved families.

 2x Trustees and Chairperson

Aching Arms is seeking two trustees and a new Chair to lead the charity, along with the Chief Operating Officer, through the next critical stages of its development. We have seen rapid growth over the past year and we would expect the new Trustees and Chair to have the skills to help shape future development while ensuring the charity’s vision and aims are maintained.

We are looking for Trustees and a Chairperson with a good understanding of the charity sector, who have gravitas and credibility and will be able to act in an ambassadorial role for the charity. The new Chair will ideally have experience of chairing a board, have a proven track record of strategic leadership and governance skills, effective communication and representational skills, as well as empathy and enthusiasm for Aching Arms’ aims and objectives.

We would like to achieve greater diversity within our boards and committees, and welcome applications from all members of the community.

Applications will be accepted between July and end of September 2017.  All interested persons are invited to attend an information session held on Saturday 16th September at 1pm in Birmingham. Pre-registration required.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
