Job Description

Oversee the health of our finances as we develop innovative new services for dementia carers

The RSAS

The RSAS has a long history of delivering ground-breaking initiatives which bring real benefits to people's lives in the field of health and social care. We are continuing that commitment by developing a National Resource Centre for Carers of People with Dementia (NRCC) to provide innovative new services to meet the specific needs of this carer group.  For more information please visit our website.

The role

We are currently recruiting a new Senior Management Team to develop and deliver the NRCC.  At the same time we are seeking to appoint a new Trustee to join our Board of eight Trustees with expertise in finance.  This role will appeal to someone who is excited by the start-up nature of this opportunity and the chance to contribute their expertise to support the charity through its transition from pilot stage to being fully operational.

You will need

The role requires experience in the following areas:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, FCA or equivalent) with Board level experience who is able to oversee the day-to-day accounting
  • Oversee investment and funding strategies

It would also be helpful if candidates have an understanding of charity finance, some legal knowledge, and some experience of a start-up and capital projects.

Additional information

The time commitment involves attending Board meetings in Borough, London every two months, Finance, Investment and General Purposes Committee meetings every quarter and the AGM.  The positions are not remunerated but reasonable travel expenses to meetings will be reimbursed.
