Job Description

Trafford Parents Forum are looking for an individual seeking a new and exciting challenge to assist our engagement and support of parent carers of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) children and young people.

You will need to be self-motivated, empathetic, client focused and has a passion for getting the best service for the young people and children with Special Educational Needs and Disability in Trafford.

You will have experience of mentoring, advocacy and volunteer co-ordinator, and an understanding of disability, additional needs and SEN support. You must have experience of working with families.  A working knowledge of the SEND code of practice is desirable but training will be given. 

You need an understanding of the barriers that parent carers face and know of the various services available for disabled children and young people in Trafford.

The successful candidate must be committed to user involvement, empowerment and have excellent communication skills.

30 hours per week flexible. Will consider job share, Funded for position for two years

25 days leave pro rata

£15,600 pa
