Trustee
the vincent wildlife trust

Job Description

Trustee Wanted for niche Wildlife Conservation Charity

Vincent Wildlife Trust has been at the forefront of innovative techniques for wildlife conservation for over 40 years, and our specific niche is the smaller native mammals. We provide scientifically sound, practical solutions to conservation problems. Our work to date has focused on British and Irish mammals, notably the rarer bats and members of the mustelid (weasel) family, including the pine marten and polecat.

Over the last year, the new CEO and Chair have been developing a ten-year Strategy to give VWT a clear base to increase its impact, take the charity through its next developmental phase, and to play an integral role in conserving mammals at risk in Britain, Ireland and wider Europe.

Due to the retirement of one of our long-standing trustees, there is a vacancy on the Board. We are looking for someone to join us to complement the skills and experiences of the existing six trustees and to help move VWT through a new period of growth based on the 10-year Strategy being developed.

We are looking for a person with skills in business management and specialist skills in one or more of the following:

• Investment Management
• Fundraising/major donor networking
• Financial systems/accountancy
• Digital marketing

Whilst an interest in the conservation of wildlife is important, there is no requirement for experience or specialist knowledge of wildlife or conservation. Preference will be given to those who have good connections in their field and who can bring a new perspective to help navigate the Trust through the challenges ahead.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
