Job Description

We're looking for an experienced fundraiser with a track record in the charity/international development sector to join a fast-paced and exciting charity working globally to make tourism sustainable.

Do you want the chance to lead on the development of grant, trust and institutional fundraising opportunities for a Bristol-based international charity? Can you contribute to the delivery and management of a diverse, high-value, multi-year grant portfolio, identifying and securing funds to deliver our international programme of research, programmes and advocacy?

Based on the beautiful Bristol harbourside, The Travel Foundation (TF) is a UK registered charity working with the travel and tourism sector to build a more sustainable future. Our vision is of “a world where tourism provides the greatest benefits for people and the environment in destinations” We work with tourism organisations to develop and implement initiatives that promote cross-sector collaboration, build local capacity and enable long-term change.

Programme Fundraiser is a brand-new role for the organisation. Responsibilities will include growing our donor database, securing funding, financial management, donor relationship management, report writing and raising the organisation’s profile to donor-funding partners.

This job provides the opportunity to work closely with our programmes team, and to make a real contribution to the design, development and oversight of our projects. It may also involve some UK and international travel.

We are looking for a confident, committed and dynamic fundraiser, looking to take the next step in their career. You will have appropriate fundraising experience, including identifying and researching donors, a proven track record of developing successful applications and securing funds from a variety of sources, as well as experience of reporting and overseeing funding relationships.

You will be results-orientated and be used to securing five- six-figure grants for single and multi-year projects. You will enjoy working as part of a team, actively contributing towards achieving team goals and applying your initiative, technical skills and knowledge to drive team and individual performance. You will have strong communication skills and will be able to communicate complex issues in an accessible and engaging manner and will be comfortable interacting with donors at all levels. You’ll be innovative, resilient and resourceful and have a good technical and emotional understanding of what motivates donors to give.
