Director
the leicester counselling centre

Job Description

The Leicester Counselling Centre is a charity and a voluntary sector organisation with an excellent, long-standing reputation of nearly 40 years. The aim of the Centre is to provide affordable, long-term counselling to adults in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The team comprises a Director, Administrator and around 80 volunteer and placement counsellors and a team of volunteer receptionists.

We are seeking to appoint a new Director to lead TLCC in delivering and developing high quality, affordable counselling services. This person will be an experienced psychotherapist/counsellor who also has proven leadership, management and organisational skills in the voluntary/charity sector and can provide strategic direction alongside the Executive Committee for this busy, lively and friendly organisation. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated and with a strong commitment to the values and ethos of the Centre.

Whilst the Director's role includes a small caseload of clients, it is important to note that the major part of the role is focused on management and administrative tasks, whilst also providing line-management and clinical support to the placement and volunteer counsellors.

The closing date for applications is midnight on Sunday, 17th February 2019 and any applications received after this cannot be considered. Short-listed candidates will be invited to an interview on Thursday, 14th March 2019.
