Job Description

As a cross between teaching and youth work, delivering the 12 week Prince's Trust Team programme will put you on the front line of helping vulnerable, complex and challenging young people get into work.

You will be responsible for the delivery of 3 (x12 weeks) programmes a year. The qualification you will be teaching is the Princes Trust Certificate in Employment, Teamwork and Community. On this 12 week intensive programme you will work with a cohort of approx 15 unemployed young people aged 16-25, taking them on a journey through ice breakers/team building, a 4 day (3 night) residential (outdoors activities), delivery of a community project, 2 week work experience placement, employability skills and mock interviews, a team challenge and finally a graduation ceremony where all the young people have to stand up and present to a room full of stakeholders. Its an extremely challenging but infinitely rewarding job.

The successful candidate will be excellent at engaging with and motivating difficult and vulnerable young people. They will have experience of working with, supporting, and engaging hard to reach young people on a one to one basis and in a group setting.  Communication and interpersonal skills are paramount as we need an individual who will be able to work confidently with a range of stakeholders and young people to deliver this programme.  One to one mentoring and support, and teaching are essential to the role and it is key that this is done in creative and innovative ways that young people will enjoy.

Responsible for managing own expenses within the financial management guidelines and allocated budget and supporting Prince’s Trust Programme Team to maximise draw down on relevant programme funding contracts whilst keeping expenditure within agreed limits.
