Job Description

The Hope Programme is recruiting associate counsellors to work with survivors of rape and sexual abuse. We will consider applications from qualified and counsellors in training.

The Hope Programme is a long established and dynamic Bedfordshire charity providing support to people over 10 years of age who have been raped or experienced any other form of sexual violence.  We offer confidential, free and independent support include 1-1 counselling, coaching and practical advice.

We welcome counsellors who can support clients to cope and recover from the aftermath and trauma of sexual violence You should be at least registered with the BACP/UKCP/BPS and experienced in working therapeutically with adults.  Ideally you will be able to provide a minimum of 4 hours counselling a week for up to two years. You will have the opportunity of building hours towards accreditation, if needed.

We may in special circumstances consider applications from volunteer placement counsellors and therapists studying towards a Diploma. Degree or Masters offer.

Our counselling service is delivered across the county in safe, pleasant and accessible places and offers up to 18 sessions of 1-1 face to face counselling, measured by CORE – IMS and linked scales.  We also have a shorter-term NHS Talking Therapies pilot offering up to 12 sessions per client.

You will gain high quality support, development, opportunities, specialist professional experience, free training including in trauma reduction, regular supervision and insight into an innovative charity and those who seek our help,  You will be expected to travel in Bedfordshire, travel costs and out of pocket expenses will be paid.
