Pilgrimage Assistant

Contract Type: 126 hours from 16th April 2018 to 15th June 2018 (9 weeks & equivalent to 2 days a week) Ability to work weekends and evenings

The Connection at St Martin-in-the-Fields (CSTM) provides services which help 4500 homeless people each year in London avoid, move away from and stay off the streets. Our direct services span Housing Advice, a Day Centre, a Night Centre and an Employment, Education and Training service. The charity has an annual turnover of £4.6m, a staff team of 115 and around 30 regular volunteers.

This means that we see opportunities for client involvement at every level and stage of our group work programme: from planning through to evaluation, we consult with clients, staff and volunteers to guarantee that our work is shaped by their views and opinions. Power is shared amongst clients and staff at CSTM and we aim to use it in order to act as agents for change.

The main Job for Pilgrimage Assistant is to to support the annual Pilgrimage event, in conjunction with the Pilgrimage Co-ordinator and Director of Fundraising & PR.

• To maintain accurate records of registered Pilgrims and payments made
• To process & monitor sponsorship income
• To record all Gift Aid eligible income to facilitate claims later
• To communicate with other members of the Pilgrimage administration & Finance team as necessary
• To look after the resources required for the Pilgrimage weekend 
• To liaise with the Fundraising, Friends, Pilgrimage workers and other stakeholders as necessary
• To take part of the Pilgrimage weekend to provide administrative and other related supports, and
• Preferably a full driving license with access to a car during weekend
