Job Description
Director of Services
Hours: Fulltime; 35 hr
The Connection at St Martin-in-the-Fields (CSTM) provides services which help 4000 homeless people each year in London avoid, move away from and stay off the streets. Our direct services span Street Outreach, Advice & Housing, a Day Centre, an emergency Night Centre and an Employment, Education and Training service. The charity has an annual turnover of £4.2m, a staff team of 80 and 50 regular volunteers.
Our new strategy from April 2018 includes our aim to develop our services in new ways. This will include implementing a strengths based approach to client work, consolidating the implementation of a new service model, creating better pathways for clients into health and treatment services and improving our systems to demonstrate impact. We anticipate greater collaboration with St Martin’s Charity to try new ideas and participate in partnerships in other parts of the UK. The Director of Services will take this work forward as part of CSTM’s Leadership Team.
The charity is recruiting for a permanent Director of Services who will:
- Ensure excellent service delivery and secure opportunities for growth
- Ensure efficiency, focus and a highly effective team
- Provide financial management and secure resources
- Monitor, Evaluate and demonstrate the impact of our work
- Manage External Relationships and promote the charity
We are looking for a candidate who will form part of our leadership team. The person is expected to develop 3 year financial projections for the charity linked to service development plans. An excellent networker who will represent CSTM professionally and effectively with external stakeholders including government departments.
The successful candidate will have a very strong track record in service delivery with people who have complex needs as well as experience of developing creative new approaches and securing funding. The Director of Services must be an experienced, well organised and focused senior manager who uses coaching techniques to develop those around them. Finally, they must be a positive role model with the personal credibility to build confidence in the charity both internally and externally.
Closing date: 9th April 2018 9am
Interview date: Thursday, 19th April 2018
