Mental Health Empowerment Officer
the ashley foundation

Job Description

The Ashley Foundation is Blackpool’s largest homelessness charity and offers accommodation with support to vulnerable single homeless people.  We are looking to appoint a Mental Health Empowerment Officer to provide support and information to our Blackpool hostel residents experiencing mental distress; to cultivate empowerment; to promote improved choice, and to increase residents' control over events. The post holder will also raise awareness and knowledge amongst other supported-housing professionals.

Ideally you will have experience of supporting people with mental health issues.  You will be able to relate purposefully and communicate effectively with people experiencing mental distress in a range of settings and in a manner, and show sensitivity and understanding of their needs.   In return we offer an opportunity to join our team of committed and enthusiastic staff, a competitive salary and good terms and conditions.
