To manage and take responsibility for advocacy services contracted to local authorities in South Gloucestershire, BaNES and parts of Bristol.

As Area Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of advocacy service contracts working with vulnerable adults and including IMHA, IMCA, Care Act and IHCA. Services are expected to work to agreed advocacy principles and meet the requirements of local authority funding.

You will be responsible for a team of approximately 16 with direct line management responsibility for 3 or 4 Team Leaders.

We’re looking for a team player with proven experience of managing teams and delivering excellent services.

Experience, Skills, Knowledge:

• Experience of people management
• Experience of delivering advocacy or related health & social care services
• Ability to lead and develop team leaders and front line advocates
• Effective individual and team case load management
• Willing and able to deal with management issues as they arise
• An enquiring mind and the ability to quickly absorb and understand new information, new service types or advocacy disciplines and new ways of working
• Experience of managing work priorities and delivering on agreed deadlines
• Understanding of the need for flexibility and change within the work place
• A commitment to the belief that everyone has a right to be heard, have choice and control, to be safe from harm and to live the life they choose
