Job Description

You could be the person to help us achieve our future ambitions – enriching both the environment and the local communities of the south west.

We are dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the important habitats, species and historic sites that form an integral part of the South West’s reservoirs and lakes. From prehistoric burial cairns at Burrator Reservoir, to wildlife rich Culm Grassland at Roadford Lake, the variety and importance of these sites is paramount in our day to day work.

One of the things we are most passionate about is providing access to the lakes for people of all abilities. We have a wide range of facilities from accessible paths and fishing platforms to sailability and wheelyboats for those who love to get out on the water. Our activity centres are ideal locations for an unforgettable family day out.

South West Lakes Trust is a non-profit organisation and is looking for two knowledgeable and enthusiastic individuals to join the Board of Trustees, helping to grow our business and embed our charitable work deeper into the community to encourage more people to become involved at the lakes and to raise awareness of our work. We are especially keen to hear from people who have experience, knowledge or skills in any of the following areas:

  • Funders and fundraising
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Education and training

All positions are unpaid but reasonable expenses will be remunerated.

Further information about South West Lakes Trust can be found in the Trustee Information Pack attached.
