About Soundabout:

Soundabout is a charity that uses music to empower and unlock the potential of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities. The charity leads the provision of training and delivery of music-centred approaches to working with people with severe, or profound and multiple disabilities. We work across the UK in a variety of settings such as special schools, early years’ environments and care services. Our head office is based at the Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot, Oxfordshire. We have a small core office team and a growing body of freelance practitioners who are the creative, delivery force of our work.

The Role: The Business Administrator will play a vital role in providing administrative and clerical support across Soundabout, ensuring the completion of essential day-to-day business processes that keep this small but ambitious organisation operational. Working from the charity’s headquarters at the Cornerstone Arts Centre, the Business Administrator will be the first port of call for those getting in contact with the charity, and will also support our programmes by booking musical sessions, training and meetings, updating the website and social media channels, timetabling, data management, managing payments, thanking funders, purchasing and merchandise sales. 

The role is the primary point of contact for general enquiries, and is responsible for ensuring high quality customer service at all times. The role will also support the organisation with regular data maintenance and reporting activities and will be responsible for maintaining the quality of contact information.

In addition, there will be general administrative duties to support the efficient operation of Soundabout, including processing merchandise orders, general office administrative duties and providing support to members of the team as required.

The Candidate: This role would suit an efficient and diligent systematic thinker, with a solutions-focussed can-do approach, who is confident at using CRM databases, WordPress, Office 365, Quickbooks, and who enjoys setting up and refining business processes.
