Solent Mind is the largest third sector provider of mental health services in the Hampshire region offering a range of high quality services to improve people’s mental wellbeing and to promote choice and rights to everyone who needs our support.

We are the provider for Wellbeing services in the Winchester and Eastleigh areas, where our centres offer a range of courses, activities and support to people experiencing mental health problems. 

As part of our new contract from 1st September 2017 we are also developing peer support activities and opportunities to complement our Wellbeing programme.

Peer support is recognised as a key component of modern mental health and wellbeing provision.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with lived experience of mental health problems to inspire hope and belief in others that recovery is possible.

We are recruiting for a Peer Support Worker (Wellbeing Services) – ref: PSWBdec17

Salary £17,478 - £18,823 pro-rata per annum, 30 hours per week - Job-share could be considered

This post will work across Eastleigh and Winchester Wellbeing Services

As a Peer Support Worker you will:

  •  Develop group peer support sessions.
  •  Recruit and support peer support volunteers
  •  Work in partnership with other local organisations, community groups and other parts of Solent Mind
  •  Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of work
  •  Assist in the delivery of peer support training

As this is a new post the role and job description will be reviewed at the end of one year to ensure it fits with the development of peer support within Wellbeing services and in community settings.
