Solent Mind is the leading mental health charity across Hampshire providing a range of high quality services to improve people’s mental wellbeing and to promote choice and rights to everyone who needs our support. Our services operate in various locations throughout the Hampshire area.
Based within Adult Mental Health (AMH) Services in Portsmouth, you will advise and assist people under Secondary Mental Health Care (Severe and Enduring) to retain ongoing paid employment. Though the focus will be retention support, there will be some work around helping individuals who are looking for work. Likewise, you will also work with individuals who have mild or moderate mental health issues and are under Primary Mental Health Care.
We are looking for someone who can both empathetically and objectively work with clients and their employers, utilising knowledge of sickness procedures and return to work strategies. We are currently recruiting for:

Hours: 37 Hours Per Week
Salary Range: £22,603 to £24,341 Per Annum
Location: Portsmouth

As part of this role you will:
- be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- have previous experience of working in an employment and/or mental health settings
- have an understanding of the employment needs of people with mental health conditions
- work with a caseload of people with severe and enduring mental health issues engaging with the AMH service as well as, where needed, people with mild to moderate mental health who are accessing Talking Change to enable job retention.
- work with individuals, where necessary, towards gaining employment, training, education or other positive employability development.
