Working in partnership with Solent NHS Trust we deliver the Portsmouth Support & Recovery Service.

We are currently recruiting for an Employment Adviser (Primary Mental Health Service), Portsmouth Support & Recovery Service – ref: eapsrjul18

Part Time - 30 hours per week (4 days a week)

Salary:  £21,512 - £23,166 pro rata per annum

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent skills and knowledge within both employment and mental health.

Based within Adult Mental Health and IAPT (Improved Access to Psychological Therapies) Services in Portsmouth, you will advise and assist people with Primary (Mild to Moderate) mental health difficulties to obtain paid employment in the first instance. You will also help people into voluntary work, further training, education, community groups, amongst other areas.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with a caseload of people with mild, moderate, severe and enduring mental health issues engaging with the Adult Mental Health service and Talking Change IAPT service to help them obtain employment, or increase employability.
  • Providing skill-based interventions, information and practical support to help people receiving primary and secondary mental health services retain employment

If you can work both empathetically and objectively with clients and their employers, in a variety of differently focused teams providing high quality employment support this could be the role for you….

Previous experience of working in an employment and mental health setting is essential, together with an understanding of the employment needs of people with mental health conditions.  Excellent communication skills are required.
