Job Description

Applications are invited for the post of Director of Services (ref:  dirsvcnov17)

Part Time Job Share – 18.5 hours per week, Permanent, Salary £42,000 pro rata per annum

As a key member of the Senior Management Team of the largest local Mind association, you will play a leading role in shaping our future towards achievement of our strategic plans and 2020 Vision. You will lead and oversee our portfolio of services including advocacy in all its modern forms, wellbeing services, home-based support, employment support and psychological therapy.  We work in a range of settings, supporting people at home, in leisure and community facilities, and in acute and secure hospitals.  We work alongside not only health and social care partners but education, housing, training, and increasingly with those dealing with mild to moderate issues.

Most of our work is commissioned under NHS and Adult Services contracts.  We are increasingly looking to diversify our income streams, and maximise opportunities for innovative service delivery through digital channels.

You will be passionate in articulating your vision of high quality, modern mental health services, and resourceful and demanding in achieving the very best for the people we support.  Your experience of leadership and of managing change will need to be applied across highly motivated staff teams.  You will need to translate national and local policy agendas into sustainable service models.

Your experience will show evidence of developing strategy, forging partnerships, implementing best practice, and creating high performing teams.  As well as outstanding communication skills, you will bring energy, intellect and experience in playing a leading role in a forward looking, values-driven organisation – part of the country’s largest mental health network.

This role is half of a job share, working 18.5 hours per week.  It is anticipated that there may be an opportunity to increase the hours to full time in the near future, subject to agreement with the post holder.

It represents an excellent development opportunity for an experienced practitioner or manager to obtain experience working at SMT level in a leading third sector organisation.
