Societies Coordinator

35 hours per week annualised (1827 total hours – made up of 1547 working hours and 280 holiday hours)

LiverpoolSU is the Students’ Union for over 20,000 students at Liverpool John Moores University and exists to help all of our members love student life. We do this through running sports, clubs, societies and events; campaigning with and on behalf of students; and offering support advice and information. We want our students to have the best academic and social experience Liverpool can offer.

The Societies Coordinator is a new role within the fast paced Student development and Activities department and is being introduced to increase membership, participation and activities for student led societies.

Key skills required:

Experience of Volunteer management, Great communication skills, organised, professional demeanour, passion for volunteers and creating change.

As Societies Coordinator you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with student volunteers (Presidents/ leaders of societies) by being the first point of contact for all society queries

  • Developing each society through training, regular meetings and contact, attending society sessions and providing accurate and timely advice and guidance so they achieve their aims and objectives for the year.

  • Book transport and manage room bookings for all societies adhering to all LiverpoolSU policy and procedure.

  • Manage society pages on the website and market and promote societies and their activities to students and wider stakeholders.

  • Be an advocate for Diversity and Equality for the Student Development and Activities department.
