Job Description

This is a significant senior role in the Research and Policy team and involves day-to-day management of a portfolio of projects to meet the needs of the Foundations Policy Programme where you will support the Head of Policy & Research and  Research Manager.

As a member of the Policy and Research team you will develop and maintain a general a knowledge of policy and issues and service developments spanning both public mental health and service, with a particular focus on equity.

In line with the Foundation’s research strategy and approach, you will be a skilled communicator who can translate research in a way that is accessible to diverse audiences. You will contribute to a range of dissemination and influencing activities o improve public mental health.

The post holder needs to be able to work independently, in a team and across the organization. He/she needs to have strong research skills, critical thinking ability, partnership building skills, project management skills, and experience of working in mental health or a related field, and be committed to improving the mental health of all people and reducing mental health inequalities. He/She needs to be able to analyse issues logically and from all angles, make systematic and rational judgements based on relevant information, and generate logical, timely and workable solutions.

You will have strong relationship building skills and will sustain professional networks.

You will work closely and collaboratively with colleagues across all of the Foundation’s Department including Policy, Programmes, Communications, Campaigns and Fundraising.

The post holder will be educated to Master’s level in a course with a substantial training in research methodology and have significant expertise in quantitative methods.
