This is a significant senior role in the Research and Policy team and involves day-to-day management of a portfolio of projects to meet the needs of the Foundations Policy Programme where you will support the Head of Policy & Research and Reserach Manager.

As a member of the Policy and Research team you will develop and maintain a general a knowledge of policy and issues and service developments spanning both public mental health and service, with a particular focus on equity.

In line with the Foundation’s research strategy and approach, you will be a skilled communicator who can translate research in a way that is accessible to diverse audiences. You will contribute to a range of dissemination and influencing activities o improve public mental health.

We are seeking an individual with a track record in qualitative research and a strong commitment to translating research findings into policy and practice.  The person needs to have sound bid development and project management skills. They need to be able to work independently and in a team, and effectively manage a complex work load. They need also to have experience of working in mental health or a related field, and be committed to improving public mental health, mental health services and the lives of people with lived experience of mental ill health. The person needs to be able to work well cross departmentally in order to translate evidence to affect change across a range of audiences and systems.

You will have strong relationship building skills and will sustain professional networks

You will work closely and collaboratively with colleagues across all of the Foundation’s Department including Policy, Programmes, Communications, Campaigns and Fundraising.

The post holder will be educated to Master’s level in a course with a substantial training in research methodology and have significant expertise in qualitative methods.
