About us

SeeSaw is a local well respected registered charity which has been providing a service for Oxfordshire families since 2000.

Due to the forthcoming retirement of a member of the clinical team we have an exciting opportunity to join a small, committed and experienced team which supports children, young people and families before and after the death of a parent or sibling.

What we are looking for

We are looking for candidates with experience of working with children and young people, you will have a special remit for supporting children and families when a parent or carer or sibling is terminally ill. We are particularly keen to hear from people who have worked in palliative care, hospitals or other medical settings; the most important quality is the ability to communicate effectively and to make and sustain supportive relationships with families.

What you will do

Our practitioners liaise with professionals from palliative care, schools, social care and children and young people's mental health services. You will work with other members of the team to provide group work and family activity days. You will also have a caseload of individual children and their families. You will be able to work collaboratively and on your own initiative, have a qualification in health care, social work, counselling, psychological services or education, knowledge of therapeutic interventions in grief work, and skills in communicating with and training professionals.
