Established 65 years ago, Raystede is an animal welfare charity passionate about the wellbeing of all animals and committed to giving them the best possible life.  We rescue, rehabilitate, rehome and provide sanctuary for more than 2,000 animals and provide education to over 15,000 students each year. We attract a further 150,000 visitors.  We want to engage better and more effectively with those visitors through a more active approach to transferring knowledge about animal welfare.

We are seeking two trustees to join our Board to help support the current Trustees and Chief Executive in continuing to deliver the objectives of the Charity.

We invite individuals with higher level skills and experience in either education or animal welfare, who can help add value to our Board with their professional knowledge. Knowledge of either creating educational experiences in a visitor environment such as museums, zoos or similar visitor destinations, or of delivering the highest level of animal welfare in a rescue, rehoming or sanctuary which is also a visitor destination is preferred.  Applicants should have the ability to be a good strategic thinker, be able to work collaboratively and engage with the broader role of a trustee. It is most important that applicants are passionate about animal welfare. The successful candidate will help develop our next strategic plan which has animal welfare and education at its heart.
